ambassador program

Fight Like A Warrior's Ambassador Program was launched in January 2022 and has introduced a new cohort each year since then. Ambassadors are from around the world, have various conditions, are at different parts of their own chronic illness journeys, and come from all walks of life. They represent the diversity that can be found throughout the chronic illness community. Each ambassador was chosen because of their commitment and passion for advocacy, as well as our shared vision in supporting those battling chronic health conditions.

Our goal with the Ambassador Program is to uplift the voices of positive, influential advocates within the chronic illness community. Fight Like A Warrior provides our ambassadors with the opportunity to express their thoughts and experiences on a variety of topics through our shared platforms. With this collaboration we aim to give them the agency to authentically connect with those affected by chronic illness and allies, alike.

Applications for our Ambassador Program are currently closed, but reopen yearly. If you, or someone you know, are interested in being an ambassador we encourage you look for the announcement of when we're accepting applications on our website, social media, and newsletter. Our Deputy Director of Operations, Valerie Gacula, would be happy to address any further questions/comments. You may reach her at valerie.gacula@fightlikeawarrior.org.

FUN FACTS

  • I’ve been married for 20 years to my beloved husband, Nathan, and we have two children.

  • I’m an artist and maker, dabbling in just about any type of creative project I can get my hands on.

  • Music plays a huge role in my life and even helps me manage my chronic pain and stress.

why i advocate

Community & Connection - Being unwell is overwhelming and often times devastating, but I have found that sharing our stories, experiences and love eases the burden of being unwell. When we show up for one another, we help each other cope, and that’s an act of love.

BIO

After decades of facing chronic and mental illness, Stacie has found a way to live within the limits of her body while continuing to chase joy and advocate for others. Within her platforms, you will see her bringing awareness to issues that face all those that are chronically and mentally ill as well as disabled. Furthermore, Stacie’s intent is to bring a tender approach to remind others of their innate strength. You’ll find her speaking often about self-love and how this has transformed her own life after years of feeling unworthy and ashamed for being unwell.
