Hello! I’m Amelia, I was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) called Transportation of the Great Arteries (TGA).
This when the two main arteries that carry blood are switched.
To correct this, I have what’s called a mustard procedure, which basically makes my heart work backwards.
I’ve had a total of 7 heart surgeries.
In August 2019, I had my 3rd open heart surgery.

It’s been a long road with recovery and I still have a lot of healing to do.
But I spend my time writing and advocating for those who are warriors like me.
Congenital Heart Defects are for life and cannot be cured with surgery & most adults with CHD don’t get the proper care needed.
Spreading awareness about these issues is my passion & I hope to help others like myself.
